Famous for its wide avenues lined with red acacia and lilac jacaranda flowering trees,
Maputo will remain in your memory as one of the most beautiful cities in Africa. People
visiting Maputo, usually, comment about the relaxed and friendly rhythm experienced in
the city. There are many sites, where you can seat, and enjoy a coffee with a nice view.
Maputo was designed in avery simple way.
New comers can easy take a walk, without the fear of missing directions, especially
in the following areas:
* A Baixa (Downtown): Comercial and business area
* Polana and Museu: Area where most hotels and restaurants arel ocated
* Avenida Marginal: Maputo beach front road to Costa do Sol
* Maputo surroundings: Places of interest
Although the vast majority of visitors complete their travels in Mozambique without
incident, street crimes, such as mugging, purse snatching and pick pocketing are
common.Visitors must be vigilant when out in public areas and should not display jewelry
or other expensive items (e.g. digital cameras, laptops, etc.).

| Attractions |
Museu da História Natural
is one of the fascinating attractions in Maputo. This is not only because the museum is housed in a colonial building that was beautifullyrestored to its former glory;
it is also because of the artifacts that are shown there.
National Art Museum
Its collection made up of art works in form of sculptures, prints, paintings and other mixed media that were done by Mozambican artists.
The museum also holds workshops, where artists can be seen doing their master pieces. It offers classes for young artists.
National Geology Museum
It has a display showing rock sand minerals from the Mozambicans oil.
Fortress
A Portuguese fort with cannons pointed out to sea. In the Fortress remains of Ngungunyana, ruler of the old Gaza Empire, who tried and failed to defeat the Portuguese at the end of the 19th century.
Beaches
Beaches of Costa do Sol (Sunshine Coast), located in the city of Maputo. There are other beaches in the urroundings of Maputo, suchas Catembe, Macaneta, Ponta de Ouro and Ponta Malongane.
Iron House
It is an iron building designed by Monsieur Eiffel, more
famous for his tower in Paris, in 1892 and is located near the botanical gardens, the
Jardim Tunduro.Initially it was projected to serve as the official residence of the Governor
of Mozambique but later was found to be very hot for thec ountry's climate.

| Currency and Foreign Currency |
The official currency is Metical (MT or MZM). There is no restriction on the amount of -foreign currency that may be brought into Mozambique. However all amounts must be declared to Customs and Excise officials on arrival.
Foreign exchange facilities are available through Bureau de Changes. Banks are open from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 15:00. All major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard… ) are widely acceptable in Maputo |

Transport will be available at Maputo Airport for all delegates. A help desk will be available on site at the airport to assist all incoming delegates.
Transport will also be provided by the organizers between the hotels to the conference |
| Visa |
The Mozambican Authority requires that all delegates be in possession of a valid passport or similar authentic travel document. All delegates who require visas are requested to arrange through Mozambican Missions in their respective countries.
Delegates from countries without resident Mozambican Missions must communicate their details to INE for airport visa arrangements on arrival. |
| Health Precautions |
| Visitors to Mozambique must be in possession of a current medical vaccination certificate as advised by the Health Authority from their country of origin. During their stay, visitors should take special precautions to avoid possible exposure to malaria. It is advisable to drink only bottled water, which is widely available. |
